FUNdamentals’12: Fun for Everyone
Thank you for your interest in our
2012 Summer FUNdamentals academic, arts and enrichment camp, which begins its 18th year of operation this June. At our camp, which is a cooperative venture between Bishop Dunn Memorial School and Mount Saint Mary College, we have developed a program over the last 17 years that remains unique in the region in the mix of drama, arts, academic, recreation, and sports activities that are offered. Even with our success, we continue to look for ways to “fine-tune” our program. This year, we are doing just that, with the addition of a variety of activities, including martial arts, Zumba fitness, and new science investigation and math problem-solving enrichment classes.
Our academic, arts, and recreation
programs will continue to be organized so that participants can select from a number of activities in each of the six daily program hour blocks over the course of each two-week session. Also offered are a full-morning reading and math remediation program, and half-day drama program for older students, with a stage performance planned at the conclusion of each of two 3-week sessions.
Operation Details
The 2012 Summer FUNdamentals program is set to run from Monday, June 25 through Friday, Aug. 3 (Camp will be closed July 4th). The regular daily program for Pre-K through 8th grade (as of 9/12) will operate Monday-Friday from 9 am to 4:15 pm. Extended care is available from 7:30 am to 8:45 am and 4:30 to 5:30 pm at $5 per hour. More detailed information about this summer’s program is included in the full application package.
