Spanish - Mrs. Johnson

Welcome back to a new school year!  We are very fortunate here at Bishop Dunn Memorial School to introduce a new series of foreign language texts designed for the middle school student.  The new program was introduced to the seventh grade last year and this year it will be integrated into the eighth grade classroom.

The Spanish curriculum focuses on mastering speaking, comprehension, reading and writing in the target language. All students in Grade 8 will have completed two years of foreign language to prepare them for the New York State Proficiency Examination in June and upon passing, will attain one year of high school credit in foreign language before they enter their freshman year of high school.

Textbooks
Glencoe McGraw Hill Como Te Va Green Text and Workbook - Grade 7
Glencoe McGraw Hill Como Te Va Blue Text and Workbook - Grade 8

Books/Supplies
Index Cards and One Pocket Folder per student

Requirements

Please have students review the vocabulary nightly which is located at the end of each unit.  Each unit contains four chapters.  Also, students may access the textbook online as well as self tests which are scored for them and other activities to reinforce the material taught in the classroom.  The website is www.glencoe.spanish.com  The user name is CTVBOOKA  and the password is vy6st2ag

We are looking forward to another successful year.
