Overview

Currently offered in the middle school math program is a traditional regents level program as well as an accelerated program for all three-grade levels. The curriculum consists of grade six through grade nine mathematics (Algebra I). Preparing students with a work ethic useful in high school is a goal of the Middle School Mathematics curriculum. Classroom assessments and activities include the following: tests, quizzes, homework assignments, class participation, cooperative learning, as well as drill and practice. The Mathematics program follows the New York State Standards.


Textbooks

The sixth, seventh, and eight grade students work with McDougal Littell Series (Course 1,2,3 (respectively)). All students use the New York State Mathematics Coach patterned to work towards New York State Assessment. In addition, the math A students, currently the grade eight accelerated class, is working in the McDougal Littell Series on Algebra.
