Back Pack Notes

Welcome Back to the 2011-12 School Year! For the benefit of our new families; “Back Pack Notes” are produced once a week to recap the fund-raising and enrichment initiatives of the Development Office. Every edition is emailed to all of our families on Thursday or Friday of each week and is also available on our website – www.bdms.org.  

v  The September Menu and Lunch Order Forms are enclosed in this mailing and are also available on our website. Once again, we will offer a monthly drink option for students who bring their lunch to school. Please note we will be serving lunch on the first full day – Thursday, September 8th. If you plan on participating the first week, we will need your completed forms in our office no later than Wednesday, September 7th. Please use one order form per child; however you may pay with one check for all children. Make checks payable to BDMS – Lunch.

v  An Ounce of Prevention Form has also been included. Parents and Guardians are asked to participate in this very important health initiative.  Kindly fill out the form and return it to the attention of the Development Office.

v  Scholastic Book Fair & Sale of School Spirit items will take place the first week of school. Books, Teacher Wish Lists, gym bags and stuff stacks will be available Tuesday, September 6th - Thursday, September 8th.

v  Save the Date for the Dedication of the Sr. Frances Irene Fair Wing of Hope on Sunday, October 16th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Plans are underway to officially name the Middle School Wing in honor of Sr. Frances Irene Fair. This event will be for family & friends and all are encouraged to attend the ceremony and the reception that will follow the dedication.

v  Parent Guild Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 22nd at 7:00 p.m.

v  Uniform Exchange has been sorted and is on display in the breezeway. There is a surplus of items available at no cost. Please feel free to stop by and supplement your child’s wardrobe. Our special thanks to the Godwin Family for organizing the abundant amount of items received this summer. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who donates too!
